Rooted in Purpose. Guided by Heart.
If one hard moment keeps repeating in your house, you're exhausted, and nothing you've tried is sticking, that's caregiver burnout.
It's not your fault. Sound familiar?
Most advice tells you to push harder. This asks you to understand. Three simple steps you can remember even when everyone is tired and the clock is ticking.
Calm yourself first. A calm parent is the first thing that changes a hard moment.
Figure out what the behavior is really doing for your child: the real ‘why’ behind refusals and meltdowns.
Use a planned response: one calm sentence, then one clear action. Routines, limits and scripts that work when things get hot.
Leave with a plan for ONE hard moment, plus the free Hard-Moment Reset guide. Cameras optional, pajamas welcome, messy bun and Scooby snacks to munch on expected.

Clarity, practical strategies, and a plan built around your family.
We start with what's already working at home, then walk through the moment that's hardest.
Together we picture what calm actually looks like for your #1 battle, so you'll know it when you see it.
We build one small first step you can start this week, plus your own Pause. Decode. Respond. plan.
We plan for the bumps ahead of time and decide how you'll track the good days.
For families who want help making the plan stick. Together we build and fine-tune your family’s custom playbook, one hard moment at a time.
Not sure if it’s right for you? Start with a Family Game Plan Session. If you’d like more support, we’ll talk about it at the end. No pressure, no sales call.
Start with a sessionWith 23+ years in classrooms and school leadership, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) since 2013, and, most importantly, a mom to one awesome son since 2007, Shay understands behavior from both sides: professionally and personally.
Today, she supports busy, high-performing parents who are exhausted by daily battles over getting ready and out the door, homework, screens, bedtime, and everything in between.
Through her Pause. Decode. Respond. approach, parents learn to uncover what’s contributing to their child’s challenging behavior(s), create predictable routines, and use practical, in-the-moment scripts, so they know what to do and say when their child pushes back.
The ultimate goal: end their #1 daily battle in 90 days (or less), without yelling or bribing, by visualizing measurable momentum in the first two weeks.
Years ago, it was another weeknight at the kitchen table. She was staring at homework with her 14-year-old son, already bracing for the same battle they’d had the night before.
And this, my friends, was the humbling part.
After more than two decades helping other people’s children, she was still struggling with her own.
She was a BCBA. She knew the research. But she was also a tired mom who had tried the nagging, negotiating, taking things away, and talking… and talking… and talking.
It might work for a day or two. Then they were right back in the same loop.
Until something clicked:
She was trying to win the homework battle instead of understanding what was driving it.
So she changed what she did first.
The battles didn’t disappear overnight. But they got shorter. Then less frequent. And eventually, homework stopped feeling like a war.
That experience changed the way Shay looked at parenting, and it became the heart behind her Pause. Decode. Respond. method.
You know, sometimes even the parent who knows what to do needs a practical way to actually do it when emotions are high, time is short, and real life is happening.
No. This is parent coaching and only parent coaching. I teach you practical tools to use at home. It is NOT ABA therapy for your child, counseling, or crisis services.
Busy parents and caregivers of children ages 4–16 who feel worn out by the same hard moments: mornings, homework, screens, bedtime, refusals and meltdowns.
